This song is about Rammsteins career. Interpreting language,”The sowing was good, but the land was not fertile” relates to how they were able form but the industry was not used to their music so they had to beg producers and radio stations to get out there.”The children rising and singing aloud where he sown himself” relates to the fanbase that grew & “where my heart stands in dead soil” is how they will always remain loyal to their fans. idk bout a farewell song but its a thank you to fans
@rammstein474 Oh yes! Rosenrot is a very good album, no doubt about it! It is cool in a way, that they do release the songs, which were actually demo’s from Reise Reise. But like Ein Leid for example, is the rough demo version from Nebel. So it’s old. Same for Mein Land. Till wrote it on the beach, like 6 years ago… Bit of shame it comes so late then..

@rammstein474 I agree. But I sometimes wonder why Rammstein released the songs, which were leftovers from albums. (Like all songs from Rosenrot, they didn’t make it for Reise Reise album..)
Der Vater hat sein Herz an eine andere verloren… “der alte Schoß wollt nicht empfangen” … heißt seine Frau wurde nicht Schwanger, und so Schwängerte er eine andere… Wie immer viele interpretationen. Paul sagte das sie sich nicht trennen…ich glaub im Makinkg of Video war das zu sehen… jede Band bringt mal ein Best of raus, und es war schon lange geplant… soviel dazu
